What Is the current market rate for nannies in California?
The current market rate for nannies in California will be between $30.00 and $45.00 an hour. However, your experience and qualifications do not justify these rates. Rates will be based on your experience, knowledge, work history and qualifications, the number of children the job offers, location, and the duties requested.
Can I get paid under the table?
According to the law, paying nannies under the table is prohibited and constitutes tax evasion. The Nanny Tribe exclusively recruits families committed to providing legal pay unless it is temp work or babysitting services; you will then be paid as an on-call agent. We recommend considering these factors when requesting your rate.
Do I have to pay to work with The Nanny Tribe?
No! Our services are free for nannies.
How long will it take to find a placement?
This depends on the current market, season, qualifications/experience, rate requested, commute, and availability. We cannot guarantee placement. Pre-registering with The Nanny Tribe will offer you a guarantee of being the first call if a job that meets your credentials comes up.
What are the biggest challenges in the market right now?
The biggest challenge we are currently finding is families requesting the COVID-19 vaccine and or mask-wearing. If you are willing to have the current vaccination and/or wear a mask it may open the door to more positions.
